After Friday’s aborted attempt because of dangerous weather conditions, we awoke Saturday to blue skies and much anticipation. In the annals of bicycling, Tourmalet is the “granddaddy” of prestigious and challenging routes and to say one has conquered it is a claim that can last a lifetime.
