Dale found a gem of a pension in the Pyrenees, a former centuries old Catholic monastary now called Les Terrasses de Saubissan that is run by a delightful man named Vincent and his family. The rooms are simple with ample room in which to spread out. Breathtaking views from the grounds encompass majectic mountains framing a picturesque valley. Vincent is fluent in English, has hiked South America and eagerly shared his excitement that we are his first American guests, an amazing fact considering what a good website the pension has and its reasonable prices. We discovered while visiting the nearby village of St Lary Soulain that the entire valley is inter-connected with ski runs, most of which would be classified as triple diamond in the US.
